Switching Between Models
You can switch between the Referral and Managed models, but there are financial conditions that must be met first to protect both parties.
How to Check
Go to Partner Dashboard → Change Model to see:
- Your current model
- A conditions checklist showing whether each requirement is met
- The "Change Model" button (enabled only when all conditions are met)
Conditions for Switching
From Referral Model
| Condition | Details |
|---|---|
| No pending commission balance | All commissions must be Confirmed or Paid (not Pending) |
| No active payouts | No payout requests in "Requested" or "Processing" status |
warning
Switching from Referral to Managed invalidates your referral code. Existing referral links will no longer earn commissions. Any customers already referred to you remain linked, but no new commissions will be generated.
From Managed Model
| Condition | Details |
|---|---|
| No unpaid invoices | All invoices must be Paid (no Draft, Sent, or Overdue invoices) |
| No active licenses | All client licenses must be revoked or expired |
warning
Switching from Managed to Referral means your managed discount will no longer apply to future purchases. Existing licenses remain at their current tier until expiry.
Switching Process
- Verify all conditions are met (green checkmarks on all items)
- Click "Change Model"
- Confirm in the dialog
- Your model is updated immediately
- You may need to complete model-specific setup (e.g., set up card for Managed Credit mode)
What Stays the Same
- Your partner tier (Certified/Premium) is preserved
- Your referral code remains assigned to your account (but only generates commissions under Referral model)
- Your client accounts persist across model switches
- Your API keys and webhooks remain active
